Dev Ops Engineer at Simbe

As a DevOps Engineer at Simbe Robotics you will be part of a talented team ensuring quality in our software as well deploying & managing our cloud services and world-wide fleet of autonomous robots.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing our quality assurance, application deployment, and on-going maintenance strategy.  This will include build system, testing frameworks, monitoring, application installation, configuration, customization, and routine maintenance.  This role includes working close with members our software engineering and product team.


Own the installation, configuration, and routine maintenance of systems
Own the scalability, stability and efficiency of systems
Continue to optimize our overall system architecture
Utilize our internal monitoring and analytics systems to ensure that our systems always keep up with our growing demand
Analyze our existing infrastructure, improving it as necessary to serve the needs of data analytics and computer vision processes
Develop documentation and processes to allow others to perform maintenance and operations on our systems as necessary
Must be comfortable with domestic traveling regularly to customer sites

Required Experience

Has previous production site experience as a Software Development and Operations Engineer 
Has strong Linux administration skills 
Has experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, etc) or equivalent technologies
Has experience with automated build and continuous integration systems (e.g. Jenkins, TravisCI)
Has knowledge of application/system level monitoring (Nagios, CloudWatch, Munin, Splunk) 
Experience with configuration management (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) tools
Has experience with various application packaging and deployment technologies (Debian packages, Docker/Linux containers)
Experience configuring web servers (e.g. Apache/Tomcat, nginix)
Has expertise in TCP/IP, especially HTTP, DNS, and SSH protocols
Has DNS, Switch, Router, Firewall, and VPN experience
Well-versed in Source Control systems like Git or SVN
Proficient in scripting (e.g. Shell, Python, etc)
Has experience in SQL and NoSQL database administration
