At the intersection of hardware, software, and chemistry, we are developing connected food sensors that help people be their healthiest selves by knowing what’s in their food. We launched our first product this year, a sensor that is helping thousands avoid gluten in food every day . Sensors for peanut, milk and tree nuts are in development for future release. Nima has been recognized as one of TIME magazine’s “Best Inventions of 2015,” one of CNBC’s Upstart 25 companies, one of Fast Company’s Innovation by Design finalists in health, and Popular Science’s Best of What’s New 2016 in health.

Nima is looking for a Marketing Coordinator in our San Francisco office to connect with and build Nima’s ever-growing community. This role work with all parts of the marketing team on outbound communications, events, and general marketing duties. Responsibilities include email communications, supporting our content marketing and social media efforts, event planning, special projects and some administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate for this position will be an exceptional communicator, intellectually curious, great at details both big and small, scrappy, and full of passion for Nima’s mission. This role reports to the VP of Marketing.
Responsibilities: Email

Help write, program, send and analyze the performance of emails such as:
Weekly emails to Nima community (both non-owners and owners)
Pre and post event emails
Sales related emails
Targeted emails for key data releases or local events
Audience research
Make recommendations to marketing team to improve open rates, click through, and general email performance
Optimize designs and templates to help team launch campaigns speedily, while maintaining a high level of quality in partnership with marketing and design team members
Working with Head of Community to optimize onboarding emails
Responsibilities: Content & Social Media

This part of the role would work directly with the Director of Communications
Content production for blog and self-owned social channels
Source new content for social channels
Write blog posts as assigned, including any needed food testing or research
Maintain and expand reporting on SEO content
Maintain and expand Nima’s master media and influencer list
With with marketing team on content calendarWork on thought leadership items as assigned
Assist with additional analytics for each of these items
Responsibilities: Event Planning

Assist entire marketing team with event planning - from consumer expos we attend to business conferences to hosted events
Manage collateral inventory for events
Ensure team has supplies needed for each event the team attendsHelp order food and supplies for hosted events
Prepare background documents for key eventsAttend key events as needed, helping to build relationships with the Nima community
Providing attendee and badge informationEvent registration when needed
Maintain event calendar, keeping it up to date with the current information
Run post-mortems for events, building a body of knowledge for how we can do each one better than the last
Responsibilities: Special Projects & Administrative

Special projects may be short or long term projects to help Nima’s marketing team achieve overall goals. Projects could include:
Conducting research on everything from check out flows to best practices for drip marketing to the best free-from restaurants in any given city
Preparing applications for awards and speaking opportunities
Helping to program surveys
Administrative tasks would include items such as:
Purchase order generation
Shipping and handling of items to influencers, business partners, or others
Conference registrations
Promotional code generation and documentation
Setting up event registration
Updating team calendar with events
Keep brand guidelines up to date

2 - 4 years of general marketing experience, ideally including email, social media, or event planning
Strong written and verbal communication skillsA deep sense of curiosity combined with lots of creative ideas
A passion for startups: clear ability to prioritize, but also possess a willingness to jump in and help other team members as needed
A deep appreciation for food sensitivities and a willingness to really understand our target audiences
Consumer products or lifestyle experience
Deadline-driven -- that is, delivering assigned projects and then going above and beyond
A desire to help build relationships across all marketing channelsGood attention to detail
An ability to travel about 10% of the time

Social media tools (Monitoring: HootSuite, Iconosquare, Union Metrics, etc. + native posting on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
