Seriforge is looking for a Head of Manufacturing Operations to lead high-volume production of carbon fiber composite preforms and parts. The Head of Manufacturing Operations will oversee all aspects of manufacturing, and will be responsible for meeting all quality, output and cost objectives.


Strategy and Development:

Responsible for all Manufacturing resources and activities
Develop long-term and short-term objectives, projects, and plans
Prepare and manage Manufacturing budgets, forecasts and capital expenditures
Work with Business Development to set production schedules based customer POs
Evaluate challenges and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes
Ensure Manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives
Logistics and Environmental:

Oversee plant layout, utilities and infrastructure, equipment selection, and installation
Oversee maintenance activities for production facility, equipment, and infrastructure
Manage supply chain and work directly with material suppliers and vendors
Establish and oversee all inventory control policies and procedures
Establish and oversee all Manufacturing procedures and best practices to ensure quality, efficiency and safety goals
Maintain strictest levels of safety based on company standards
Ensure compliance with current federal, state and local regulations
People and Culture:

Manage and direct production staff capacity and work schedules
Manage production staff attendance, holidays, and disciplinary issues as appropriate
Set department and personal objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance
Perform regular performance reviews and provide consistent feedback
Ensure proper training of all Manufacturing personnel
Implement a customer focused culture delivering world class customer service
Act as a mentor and technical expert for all manufacturing personnel
Provide leadership to coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement


Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum six (6) years leadership experience an industrial manufacturing environment
Experience in Industrial Automation / Advanced Manufacturing
Knowledge of advanced composites materials and production processes
Hands on, technical mindset
Proven leadership and management skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills absolutely required
Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
Commercially and financially astute with experience managing budgets
Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles and practice
Enjoy working with engineers and cross-functional teams in a hands-on workshop environment
Must be detail oriented and a self-starter with strong organizational skills
Eager to work in a small company startup environment, adapting to shifting priorities, and embracing iteration and continuous improvement
