Head of Product Marketing at Spire

We’re not your typical Bay Area startup. We interact with our colleagues around the world on a daily basis, think globally, and measure our products in how many people they positively impact. This role is primarily working on Spire’s maritime product (Spire Sense).

As Head of Product Marketing for Spire Sense, our maritime product, you will own the marketing of a product that is using machine learning and artificial intelligence to fundamentally change how people view and interact with ship tracking. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in product marketing and a demonstrated passion for being hands-on setting up product messaging, marketing automation, email sequencing, A/B testing ad copy & landing pages, and driving customer understanding.


Responsibilities

Own the prospect acquisition process for Spire Sense
Design workflows for prospect acquisition, lead conversion, and public relations
Build email lists for prospects, press, and influencers
Document customer acquisition process both from internal perspective and customer perspective
Define and refine positioning that resonates with target buyers and clearly highlights the differentiated value of Spire Sense
Analyze the competition, deeply understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each, and framing up positioning to share across the field
Enable the sales team with the training, collateral, positioning, pitch decks, and tools they need to sell the value of our product
Define key metrics and work with senior staff to set attainable (but lofty) goals for conversion and prospecting
Support sales promotions
Support the sales team & sales development representatives with automation and procedures
Create best practices (and automation) for email reach outs for marketing and sales staff
Suggest and implement new tools for generating prospects
Build dashboards that track growth metrics and key performance indicators for Spire Sense marketing against goals
Design, manage, and execute strategic growth experiments across the growth stack (acquisition, activation, retention, referral, revenue) for Spire Sense
Help build and iterate on a content marketing strategy from production to promotion


A good knowledge of the following tools is required:

Experience with multiple CRMs
Email automation (any/multiple tools)
Google Apps (GSuite)
Remarketing pixels (Facebook, Google, email)
Any landing page builder (Unbounce, Instapage, etc)
Microsoft Office (Excel & Powerpoint)
Dashboarding software


Skills required

Hands-on knowledge of how to set up marketing automation, email sequencing, landing pages, and ad campaigns
Demonstrated knowledge of how CRM’s work (and should work)
Demonstrated passion for collaboration
Excellent math skills
History of leading a product marketing team or second in command for B2B product going from $10mil to $100mil in sales (ideally globally, ideally software/data related)
Bachelor Degree or higher in marketing, entrepreneurship, or communications preferred
