Robot Technician (Full-time, Hourly, or Contract) at Simbe

Simbe is building a fleet of autonomous mobile Tally robots for the world's retail industry! Tally works with the store teams by autonomously collecting and analyzing on-shelf product data and providing actionable insights. As a Robot Technician at Simbe Robotics, you will be responsible for maintaining all hardware and supporting the product build out / updates to our Tally robot fleet.

Responsibilities

    • Test and update all field units as required for customer deployments. 
    • Assembly and disassembly of Tally units for build out and version updates.
    • Assist in coordination of shipping and logistics of Tally units per product schedule.
    • Assist EE, ME and SE with prototypes and product development per production goals.
    • Documenting updates, analysis and specific test procedures for engineering and production use.
    • Maintain inventory of parts, cables, test equipment, components, and other items related to product build.
    • Design and assemble test fixtures as needed for engineering and production.
    • Test and evaluate typical serial, USB, standard protocols among other electrical components.
    • Testing parts for ESD, radiated emissions, and thermal.
    • Assembly, testing and updating development boards.
    • Communicate with vendors and manufactures to meet product requirements.
    • Test and evaluate alternate sensors, microprocessors and other components for future products.
    • Creating test procedures and requirements for production components.

Required Experience

    • Experience with shipped commercial product that is on the market.
    • Experience in robotics, electronic products or integrated systems is strongly preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail, with an organized process.
    • Experience with wide range of test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, electronic loads, power supplies, software test programs and other equipment.
    • Excellent hands-on skills with a mechanical aptitude.
    • Experience with schematics and PCB layouts.
    • Knowledge of ROS, Python, C++, or Electromechanical system design is very helpful.
